I had the honor of participating in the 2012 Brotherhood Ride today. The 2012 Brotherhood Ride is dedicated to the eleven Fallen Heroes of Florida, who died in the line of duty in 2011. These emergency responders made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the citizens of Florida.
The event was both moving and exhilarating. Starting under a flagged draped hook and ladder arch, a bagpipe played amazing grace as a touching memorial was made in honor of the fallen eleven, followed by a rolling first responder escort to the open road.
Once on the road, we all got our happy feet and turned the event into a full blown 62 mile race…like we always do. Afterwards, we were all treated to some delicious food from the Hurricane Grill and Wings as well as some great raffle prizes.
A great end to the event riding season.
