The World’s Cycling Experts

Here is a very inspirational and thought provoking video released by the Dutch Cycling Embassy. Cities across the globe continue to look to the Netherlands for inspiration, and guidance, for all things cycling.

The Dutch are the bicycling champions of the world. They have the worlds friendliest bicycle infrastructure where 26% of all traffic movement is done by bike (even higher in cities). Although the Netherlands are a highly motorized society, they have a vast and completely connected bicycling network of 29,000 KM of separated bicycle paths, and 7,000 KM of on road bike lanes. The Dutch are able to go anywhere, anytime on their bikes, which promotes a healthier, more attractive lifestyle. In fact, bicycles actually outnumber the inhabitants of the Netherlands (16 million inhabitants and 18 million bicycles).

We could learn a thing or two from the Dutch!
