Nibblin on sponge cake
Watchin the sun bake
All of those tourists covered with oil
Strummin my six-string
On my front porch swing
Smell those shrimp they’re beginnin to boil
In just a short 15 hours we’ll be on our way down to the Conch Republic. The Mistress has been cleaned and lubed…kind of fitting lubing a mistress for Key West…all the supplies have been gathered, and the bag is packed. I’ve got the Di2 and blinky light batteries charging, as well as my cameras…this trip merits more than one.
The crazy winds from Sandy are long gone, and as a consolation prize, we’ll have predominantly westerly wind on the initial 120 mile leg of the trip, followed by a NNE breeze on the second day and an ENE breeze on the third…virtually tail winds all the way…the cycling God’s must like us!
The route has been set, so it’s time to carbo load and get plenty of rest for tomorrow’s early start…we’ll see you all on the Isle of Bones!
