Lacing Up, Day Twenty-Five: Goodbye 5k, Hello 10k

Our 5k training officially ended during our cool moonlight run this morning. We had a slightly delayed start, as we both slept in a bit…we are still getting used to the new early morning starts…and although it felt like I needed another good hour of sleep, I still managed to “sleeprun” myself through it. Maggie was much more comfortable with the dark this time with her makeshift light made with my Blackburn Flea, which provided more than enough light for running. I found that Blackburn makes a clip-on attachment for the Flea. Perfect to clip onto a hats visor and have handsfree lighting. I’ll still check to see what Fit2Run has to offer before dropping the order.

Slightly better lit...not jumping at shadows.

Speaking of Fit2Run, we’ll be attending a party there midweek to celebrate Fit Nation’s premier issue. Founded in 2013, Fit Nation Magazine is the first and only local health and fitness magazine with a powerful mission—to educate, inspire, and motivate people to adopt a healthier lifestyle. It’s premier issue will be dropping on May 1st. The issue drop party will feature multiple bike rides as well as a 5k fun run, which will be our first semi-official 5k. Trek and Moe’s will also be there adding to the fun.

We’ll be transitioning to 10k training next week, but with the weekend finally here, it’s time to set the sneaks aside and get some quality time in on the bike. Anyone up for a couple hundred miles this weekend? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
